| i would like to bring this subject to everyone's attention. two of last seasons unsung hero's philip Bladen and his sidekick Gareth 'pepe' the bastard sharp have been seemed to be surplus to requirements this season. i for one think this decision is absolutley ludicrous when the likes of L.Burn who couldn't mark a register never mind a Sherburn winger is constantly getting his game.
Also i would recommend to all those would be midfielders to train extra hard as the true blue moon is now back in town. JOHN ROBSON

| Well i have to say Liam Burn is one of our better players. So if he did make a mistake. I make them all the time. He tries his best and he is much better player than the two names mentioned above, plus them two never turn up anyway. | |

| Don't need anyone to defend me if someone wants to say I played shit let them.... they're probabily right thats why we all play sunday morning - only one person picks team think that was found out last week and when he doesn't want to play me so be it..... but for now think the so called support (fannying about on touchline) should watch a game then give opinions
pleased the crack is back even if it takes a sloppy goal to do it

| i think burn should actually start as he plays well there but he will be first to admit maybe he could brush up his marking? but then again every single player needs to up there game after last 2 games as i heard on the grapevine new signings could be drafted in!!!!!! | |

| I am the first to agree with the mole and i don't normally do that... marking isn't strongest point but then again i'm not a wing back and the position is pretty specialist with only really Marc being that familiar due to a lot of time spent there last year! perhaps against certain teams we would be better going with a different system..... also think we have selection issues in midfield with a lot of our players being too similar not that they cant play, they all could merit a place, but maybe we just need a greater variety in the middle 3.
New signings have been mentioned..... think a new 11 was the last comment from the manager?

| different system would be a major mistake, as you all know, the gaffer resorts to a change of formation and tactics when things become a little hard, and it's yet to work! Everyone (who knows anything) knows it's a change of personnel required when we're gettin beat, not a change of system! Variety within the system is the future, just like garlic bread boys! | |

| our wingback system doesn't work on tight fields, 4-4-2 is what we all are comfortable playing and should be played on fields such as the one we played houghton mill on.
the 5-3-2 should be kept at stade de welfare as the field is big enough.. but yeah agree that we need extra personel and a few changes in who plays where....

| Well with the january transfer window approaching Hilton may be looking to strentghen certain areas. From quite reliable sources I hear Hilton is sweating on the future of several of his current crop and that may be why he is looking for fresh players.
Just a couple of the names mentioned who it is rumoured Hilton believes wont be at the club too much longer are K.Coates and L.Burn, whether this is true remains to be seen, even heard from another source that the skipper may be considering jacking it all in? As I said rumours but for one reason or another Hilton has to worry about the future of the three above and maybe more! maybe the players could clear this up themselves? Sure if Hilton doesn't already know this he'll be calling the mentioned players when he finds out! You heard it here first!

| good to see the crack back boys even if it showing some uneasiness in the camp! i even see eric metcalfe has joined the forum, could this be the real eric metcalfe from witton club, who i also heard on the grapevine is planning on totally rebuilding his struggling witton and planning a major swoop on s.c.c.f.c in the january transfer market and what with his vast amount of experience and knowledge in the game, certain players would relish the chance to play under him...and with the 3 players mentioned earlier in this topic it all seems to be clicking into place! i also happened to have an interesting conversation with his future son in law just last week!!!!!!!!!! hmmmh!!!! | |

| I think you are right Mole - I personally know at least 5 players, which could be leaving the cricket club, as they are sick of not getting their chances enough, which could totally rebuild Witton Gilbert. Then the Cricket Club may STRUGGLE!! | |

| Well i have to say who is he. Name the players who are wanting to leave. If it is Blayden and Sharp they do not turn up every week anyway. And 5 players who are not happy by getting a chance i would say there is only Coils and fletcher who have started once this season. All other players are getting fair crack. And you see on a sunday who is good enough to play anyway. Common village idiot name names and see if you really know anything about football or do you just come to the matches and just piss about on the sidelines or just listen to people in the cricket club moaning on because they cannot get a game. | |

| back to seriousness gents, this system doesn't work on small fields? who on earth could've dreamt that shit up! I seem to remember the 1st game the system was put into place, if i'm not completely wrong, we won by 5 goals or maybe more, so this small fields crack is uter shit! You play with a system everyone knows and you make it work!
The houghton game was lost through lack of graft and poor decisions on the day, not forgettin individual mistakes, SHANKER.

| Sticking to one formation is fear of something else not due to it being the be all and end all of formations, each game should be approached individually first game we played this system was gilesgate away and yes we won 7-2 but think we could've played any formation that day as they were crap. Not saying totally ditch 5-3-2 yes it works especially against the plough and normally at home but too many people are hiding in the system and it is allowing the opposition too much space in certain areas, when we play it right i'd always pick 5-3-2 but sometimes its not going right and things need changing.
As for saying system we know, think as a team we know 4-4-2 a lot better than current system we all grew up playing it!

| Subject: Players being criticised Tue Nov 14, 2006 10:21 pm | |
| There are only ever 2 players being criticised for recent peformances. I think some other players want to look at there own performances first. Shanker knows himself he has made some mistakes like wise maybe Liam but think of the amount of times they have gettin us out the shit. Liam has been a revalation at wing back and shanker has had many good games in the Sacriston shirt. He has a presence at the back and in the team. I wish the same could be said of some of the others. We need to start working as a team. I have not seen very much positive things on this website. It would be nice to see. | |
