debate rumbles on

another week and another game and again the debate is whether there is a place in the 1st XI for the enigmatic Fenton!

I must admit this kid does impress me everytime he gets on the pitch. Links the play up well and plays good simple passes. He is also very dangerous in the air, probably the best attacking player we have in the opposition box.
I'm jumping on the bandwagon and putting my support behind the lad too, think it's about time he's given a start as he is a top player if he keeps his head right.

Only reasons i can think of for him not playing is the performance of the boys in the 1st XI at present. But more likely is the fact that i dont think richie like's a player who "blows his own trumpet so much"

big daddy, hilton must of read your post as fenton started and his performance (for a full 90 mins for a change) could not be faulted!

one sour note was the fallout between hilton and nixon! It is believed anymore grief like that from the sidelines and last years players player of the year will walk out..

He wont walk away though, been solid all season. Quality players will always be unhappy with themselves if they feel they havent played aswell as they should of. Think he's just gotta take the shouting/crack/abuse/"motivation" whatever you want to call it on the chin and get a few goals next week, he's well capable of it.

And anyone who thinks otherwise really doesnt know much about football. As ive said in previous posts the pitch stopped the creative players from making the difference yesterday. Instead it was a scrap and im glad to say we won the fight again, we need the battling to go till the end of the season! Lets see if we can stay unbeaten under the new captain - i for one fucking want it too happen.

Thought it was a top effort yesterday but the Nixon strop took the edge off the performance. I think Hilton needs to handle these situations much better but also think Nixon needs to be more of a man. Hilton has the tactical skills of Alex Ferguson but the man management skills of Saddam Hussein. Think Nixon is suffering from Sunbed Syndrome.


What about the scandinavian bombshell yesterday? Strong performance from Fenton. Has he secured a shirt for the rest of the season? I certainly think so but only Hilton has the answer.
